Artificial Intelligence in the Continuing Education of Radiologists

Descrição sucinta do(s) objetivo(s)

Radiology is among the medical specialties most significantly influenced by technological advancements, particularly concerning Artificial Intelligence (AI). This article examines the application of AI in the ongoing education of radiologists.

Material(is) e método(s)

Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging have undergone significant evolution, integrating innovations that extend beyond advancements in medical equipment to encompass developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and diagnostic learning. These emerging technologies possess the capacity to revolutionize the workflows of radiologists, thereby directly influencing patient care. Consequently, continuing education must align with this rapid pace of innovation to adequately prepare professionals for shifts in clinical practice.

Resultados e discussão

We executed the project featuring two interactive characters: Dr. Eco, an ultrasound machine, and Dr. Resso, an MRI machine. Through facial expressions and intonation, these characters present clinical cases in videos, which are subsequently followed by interactive discussions among radiologists. Physicians have the opportunity to submit their own cases, fostering collaborative, innovative, and efficient learning retention.

Conclusões

The integration of AI in continuing education for radiologists presents numerous advantages, including the personalization of instruction, enhanced interaction, and prompt feedback. Nevertheless, it is essential that its deployment is accompanied by strategies to guarantee equity, safety, and the holistic development of learners. By embracing these technologies, we are fostering a future where radiology education is increasingly inclusive, adaptable, and effective, equipping professionals to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.
